Welcome to my professional portfolio! My name is William Sewell, and I am an IT Technician, Software Developer, and U.S. Navy Veteran with a strong passion for cybersecurity, networking, and software development. I am currently completing my Applied Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems with a Cybersecurity concentration at the California Institute of Arts & Technology (CIAT) in San Diego, CA, with an expected graduation in May 2024. I also hold an Applied Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems (Networking concentration) and an Associate of Applied Science in Software Development.

With a CompTIA Security+ certification and an active Secret Clearance since 2014, I bring a strong foundation in IT security, network administration, and troubleshooting. My technical expertise spans hardware repair, networking protocols, security protocols, and LAN/WAN architecture, along with proficiency in Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems. Professional Experience

My experience in software development includes an internship at NIWC (Naval Information Warfare Center), where I contributed to a top-secret government project that enhanced remote operations for naval ships. I worked extensively with Python, Flask, HTML, CSS, Git, Bitbucket, and Linux-based systems while integrating and debugging critical software components.

Beyond software development, I have also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves as an Electrician Mate since 2018, gaining hands-on experience in electrical systems, circuit troubleshooting, and shipboard maintenance. Previously, I served as a Culinary Specialist in the U.S. Navy (2014-2019), where I managed high-volume meal services and maintenance operations while leading multiple programs, including 3M, Electrical Safety, and Tag-out. Technical Skills & Expertise I am well-versed in a wide range of programming languages, including Java, Python, C#, C++, JavaScript, PHP, and more. My experience extends to software tools and platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, AWS, GitHub, GitLab, NextCloud, Visual Studio Code, Android Development Kit, and Swift Basics. Additionally, my background in networking, cybersecurity, and IT troubleshooting allows me to approach challenges from multiple angles, ensuring efficiency and security in all solutions I develop.
